Dr. Reed Ferber Ph. D., CAT (C0, ATC)
Dr. Ferber is an assistant professor in both the faculty of Kinesiology and the faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary.He is also the Director of the Running Injury Clinic in Calgary. This clinic is Canada’s only clinic devoted specifically to running injury and is located at the University of Calgary. The clinic, which deals with running and walking pain from a biomechanical perspective, reports that 90 per cent of patients report being pain-free in four to six weeks.
The goal of the Clinic is to educate and develop injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for runners and walkers of all ages through world-class research and clinical practice. The Clinic serves as a public facility for the clinical assessment of musculoskeletal injuries for walkers and runners as well as a dynamic research laboratory.
Dr Ferber has published many manuscripts and articles relating to the biomechanics of walking, running and injury prevention. He has addressed various groups as a keynote speaker across Canada.
Dr. Cynthia A. Mannion RN, PhD

Cynthia Mannion, an assistant professor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Nursing who specializes in nutrition and health. Dr. Mannion completed doctoral studies at the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, McGill University in 2004. Her clinical and research interests concern dietary intake (food and supplements); and dietary practices of populations and associated health outcomes as they pertain to current epidemiological population health trends such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension. Her doctoral research examined dairy product restriction in pregnant and lactating women; their dietary quality; and the effect of restriction on neonatal growth parameters.
She is currently investigating total calcium intake of pregnant women; the contribution of physician recommended calcium-based over-the-counter antacid medications; and the possible effect on maternal gestational hypertensive disorders. Cynthia is a Certified Childbirth Educator, International Childbirth Education Association.
